Follow my journey toward my dream job and an international correspondent for one of the big networks. What started off as simple career path - start in a small television market and work your way up the ladder - has been totally scrapped. With the economic 180, traditional media, including local and major networks, have cut their staffs down to nothing. Meaning there are few jobs available for journalists, and even fewer for international media. So here we are after the jump (In newspaper copy it's the continuation of a front page on a subsequent page, following intervening copy), with a change in how consumers demand their information - viral and web oriented. Non-traditional media is quickly becoming traditional media. Throw in my non-traditional media background: a bachelors in International Media and Art History from GW and you're looking at one interesting journeywoman. Enjoy the ride!
